Vision Sunday

November 17th is our Vision Launch and Thanksgiving Sunday. This will be a momentous occasion for our church as we look back at God’s faithfulness to us through the many years of our presence in the Rural City of Wangaratta and look forward to all God has in store for our future.

Looking back, the church foundation stone on the old building was laid on November 16th 1904. That is 115 years ago this month. On November 17th this year we would like to take up a thanksgiving offering as a way of celebrating and thanking God for all that he has blessed our church with through these 115 years, and more recently, through 2019. This is a day of great thanksgiving to God for his enduring love, his enduring guidance, and his enduring leadership of our church here in Wangaratta. Please prayerfully consider how you might contribute to this day.

Looking forward, we will also be launching our new vision for the future of Wangaratta Baptist Church. This vision has been given to all of us through God’s guidance and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Every person has had an opportunity to be involved in this process, and it has been so encouraging that so many people have come along to meetings and given insight and feedback as God has been speaking to you. We have collated everything God has been saying to us and have formed our Mission Statement, Vision and Values Statements. From these we have then developed our strategic plan – the dreams that God has birthed within our church to make the vision a reality – a clear path forward to guide our steps in ministry.

Following the vision launch we will have a catered family Lunch, so please plan on attending our Vision Launch and Thanksgiving Sunday and stay for fellowship over lunch together. And why not invite your friends along, and anyone who might have attended the Church in the past – they might be interested in hearing about what is in store for the future – and there might even be a surprise for the kids too.
